Things To Do – Baltimore

So as we all know, things can get a little boring when you sit in your room all weekend.  To rid students of this boredom, I am dedicating this page to “things to do around Baltimore.”  Most of these things will be within 20 minutes of the Owings Mills campus.  Some will be free – others, not so much.  So take a minute out of your busy day to check out what the Baltimore area has to offer!!!  (also, check back for updates!!)  If you have ANY questions, comment me! :o )


The Maryland Zoo

Distance: 13.5 miles, about 25 minutes

Cost: $9 per person - See the Student Activities Office for your discounted tickets!!

Things to Do:  See all the wonderful animals!  You can even take a camel ride or feed a giraffe!!! 


AMF Pikesville Bowling

Distance:  4.3 miles, about 10 minutes

Cost:  Non-Prime $4, Prime $5.25, Shoe Rental $3.75

Things to Do: Bowl!!  They offer both duck-pin and ten-pin lanes.  Concession’s are available (and are delicious). 


The National Aquarium

Distance:  21.66 miles, about 30 minutes

Cost:  $24.95 per person – Check with the Student Activities Office for possible discounted tickets (price given is price at gate)

Things to Do:  Take the day off and explore our world – under the sea!  There are plenty of interactive things to do and plenty of animals to see!!

Towson Town Center

Distance:  15.9 miles, about 22 minutes

Cost:  FREE!!  Window shopping is ALWAYS free!

Things to Do:  Shop, Eat, and potentially spend lots of money!!  Do what I do – use the “early christmas shopping” excuse. ;)

AMC Owings Mills Theaters

Distance:  2.7 miles, about 7 minutes

Cost: Matinee $6.50, Regular $8.50

Things to Do:  Enjoy famous movie theater popcorn while watching the newest movies to hit the big screen!!


ESPN ZONE

Distance: 21.66 miles, about 30 minutes

Cost: Depends on your meal, and how much spent in the Gameroom

Things to Do: Eat and watch your favorite team play on the big screen tvs!! And while you wait for your table, enjoy the AdultSize Gaming Room lacated upstairs (additional fees may apply).

France-Merrick Performing Arts Center (Hippodrome Theatre)

Distance: 21.40 miles, about 30 minutes

Cost: Price may vary depending on the show – Check with the Student Activities Office for discounted tickets!!

Things to Do: Enjoy an evening at the Theatre watching a Broadway Show right here in Baltimore!!

Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament

Distance: 25.36 miles, about 33 minutes

Cost: Adult $54.95 (+tax) Special Discount for Purchasing Tickets Online Now!!

Things to Do: Feast on a four-course meal while watching spectacular pageantry, exquisite horsemanship and an authentic medieval jousting tournament–an unforgettable evening for the entire family!!



National Lacrosse Hall of Fame

Distance: 17.68 miles, about 26 minutes

Cost: Adults (16+) $3.00

Things to Do: This museum highlights 350 years of lacrosse history with rare photographs and art, vintage equipment and uniforms, striking sculptures and trophies, and cherished memorabilia and artifacts.

Ride the Ducks- Baltimore

Distance: 20.78 miles, about 30 minutes

Cost: Adults (18-61) $26, Students (12-17) $20

Things to Do: Take a Baltimore adventure aboard an amphibious duck! See the city from both land and sea as the expedition takes you through historic sites and neighborhoods, then plunges into the Inner Harbor for a water tour!!

The Orioles at Camden Yards

Distance: 21.07 miles, about 30 minutes

Cost: Season Tickets $8-$48, Single Game $8-$55, Prime Single Game $10-$80

Things to Do: The Orioles play an 81-home game Major League Baseball schedule from April through September. Ballpark tours are available year-round. For tour and ticket information, call 888-848-BIRD or visit the Web site at www.orioles.com.
