That’s right – They’re official
Welcome the SU Class of 2013

This is a very exciting time not only for the entering freshman but the returning students. We are, as we do every year, building our SU community. This year was my second time and final time at Mustand Days and it seems that every year it keeps getting better. I mean, of course the boxed lunches (which are my favorite) were great – but it was the way this years class was welcomed with opened arms. Not only were they walked through everything, they were given a chance to work hands on with some of their future professors and walk out of the University with a potential schedule. I feel like this really really helped them out – scheduling can be such a pain. However, everything ran smoothly and it was so exciting to see all the new freshman! Well not all of them – but at least the Education, Psych, and Humanities majors

My Summer Vacation :o) July 1, 2009
Posted by Marina in : Summer 2009 , 2commentsSo as some of you know, Tylor and I went on vacation last week to Orlando, Florida. More specifically, Disney World. Now for the kids that are close to me, you should also know that I had never been there before. To say the very least – it was magical. I took advantage of the “get in for free on your birthday” and used it on Magic Kingdom. We stayed the entire day and I loved every single second of it. I watched the parade, and the fireworks, and even met Mickey and Minnie!!!!! The coolest part? Tylor had brought along his Stevenson University class of 2013 t-shirt to change into when he got too hot!!!!! Check it out!!

Tell me that isn’t the coolest thing ever!! I was super super super excited. Later in the day I met the Disney princesses, and yes, even at 19 years old, it was great. Ariel was our favorite – too bad the picture turned out blurry! We ended our hot hot day by sailing away on the Disney fairyboat. Watching the fireworks over the castle made everything seem so surreal. I had waited my entire life to go to Disney World, and now I can officially say I have been there
) And of course all the stuff I got says it too!
But Magic Kingdom was not the only adventure I took into Disney World. We also visited Animal Kingdom (because I LOVE animals) and Hollywood Studios (because I am IN LOVE with Aerosmith and roller coasters)!!
All in all, it was a very fun, relaxing week. We even got the chance to represent Stevenson!!! I’m sure Mickey Mouse would have loved a shirt for himself
). But back to relaxing, we lounged alot by the pool and I even got a massage at our resort spa!! (Compliments of Tylor, of course). I would recommend it to anyone!

SU in the South June 30, 2009
Posted by Marina in : Summer 2009 , add a commentLast week, Tylor and I took a roadtrip down south to celebrate graduation and of course, my 19th birthday. Due to cranky conditions, I was unable to stop in North Carolina and South Carolina. However, I still have fabulous pictures for you to see!! And yes, I had to wear the SU shirt!!

So I thought the pink and orange set a nice tone for the road – too bad I didn’t expect to sit in traffic for 2 hours outside of Richmond!!!! But as you can see, we made it

The People We Meet… June 10, 2009

I wanted to sit down this evening and write about something most people experience when they attend Stevenson University. It’s no secret that the people we meet at Stevenson will forever change our lives. Whether it’s a roommate, a classmate, a staff member, a faculty member, or just a friend – I have learned that these people will mean something to you whether you are home for the summer or a fresh graduate prepared for the life ahead of us all. I obviously love my boss and most of my teachers, but this past semester I met a girl who has turned into my best friend.

On my first day of class of my second semester, I sat beside a girl who to be totally honest scared me to the point where I wanted to move. But as the days progressed, our first words were spoken and a connection began. As the semester went on, we became closer and closer and now we are pretty much like sisters. Not only did we survive Physics and Psychology together, we have been there for one another through some pretty difficult challenges. Her name is Amanda Marsh and she is amazing. I don’t know anyone who would drive almost 2 hours to my house to go watch a Show Choir show. Yes, I said it; we live almost 2 hours apart. I miss her every fricken day!
But our friendship really displays one of the best qualities of Stevenson University. At our school, we have a lot of diverse people – but there are also people that can change your life and even end up being exactly like you. I am thankful for such an amazing best friend. If there is one thing that I have learned my freshman year it’s that the people we meet can really change our lives. So when you’re at Stevenson, be open minded – give people a chance. You wouldn’t want to miss out on something life changing.
