Extra CASH? April 28, 2009

It’s that time of year again – the end of the semester is fastly approaching and this 90 degree weather isn’t going anywhere soon.  Although their are tons of events about to come up (like the end of the year bash), these events do not just hand out cash!  However – for those of you who need a new bikini or an oil change, your opporutnity is coming!  The Stevenson University bookstore will be buying back your used books on the following dates:

May 6th – May 7th = 9am to 7pm

May 8th = 9am to 4pm

May 9th = 9am to Noon

The bookstore will hand you cold hard cash for your used books!  Pretty cool, huh?  However – there are alternatives to selling books back to the bookstore.  In need of more cash?  Post a sign letting students know what books you are selling on a bulletin board around campus – and see if you can hook someone! This stimulates the underground student economy!  I know, it’s awesome. :o )

So like I said – need that extra cash to get your summer days goin’?  Sell your old books!  Seriously – who needs books?

This week is Multicultural Reach here at Stevenson University.  And if one thing is for sure, even for a smaller university, we have alot of different peopel coming from a lot of different backgrounds.  So why not check out the cultures of your peers?  If you can’t make it to any of the really neat events this week, check out the Art exhibit or even the book display!!  Being well educated about various cultures can aid a person not only in life but it can create uniqueness when applying for jobs.

I will def. be at the Polynesian Dancers event on Thursday!!  Heck, why not?

So it’s no surprise to anyone that I indeed went to the President’s Celebration and had a BLAST!  I didn’t go as a STAR, for the day I sat back and decided to blend in the crowd and be Tylor’s guest.

My best friend from my high school also attended.  But aside from being another face in the crowd, I was overwhelmed to see just how many people were in attendance! Over 1000 people!! WOAH!  Needless to say, the stands and seats in the gym were packed and the Mustang Crew was full of smiles and warm welcomes.  Now, although I already go to Stevenson, I was impressed.  Good job SU for putting on a FABULOUS celebration, with great cake! :o )

CHECK OUT SOME PICS!

YEAH WILDSTANG!

WOW Career Fair! March 18, 2009

Tonight, Career HQ held the World of Work Career Fair.

Over 30 different employers were represented here at Stevenson University from 4:00 – 6:00 upstairs in the Rockland Banquet Room.  Numerous hard working students, part of the Career Ambassadors, were also at this event; trying to make it special and set it apart from the rest.

The purpose of the career fair was to provide an opportunity for current students to get that first hand experience of meeting various employers while trying to find that first real job for after college.  My hopes are that everyone came out getting exactly what they needed :O)
