MAY DAY!! May 1, 2009
Posted by Marina in : Fun Events , add a commentDid you say – May Day?
May Day was AMAZINGLY FUN. Yeah, I just said that. Aside from standing in line for my very first Caricature, there were so many things to do! A velcro wall – A rock wall – A giant inflatable obstacle course – and GREAT FOOD…BBQ Style
)
Although I was late to class, it was a great time. It was also Tylor’s 18th birthday so it was exciting to just get out and go to an event, Stevenson style! Even WILD STANG was there to celebrate the glorious festivities of what is, May Day.
So – if you missed it, here are a FEW pictures of the action. And boy… did you miss out! Hopefully they have this same event next year, because it was truley a blast.
SPLASH BASH was a BLAST! April 29, 2009
Posted by Marina in : Fun Events , add a commentFUN IN THE SWEET SUMMER AIR!
Last night, numerous small events were going on in the Suites Quad.. There was a Slip n’ Slide! Bubble wands! Rita’s Ice (and my fave, ice pops), Water guns and Balloons! AND – my ultimate love in life, Tie Dying!!!!!!!!
There were so many people out in the quad last night that the only shirt sleft by 7:10 were 2XL. Haha, woops! But anyway, here are a few pictures from last night. In my opinion – it was the best event held here at Stevenson, by far, so far.

Who Says You Can’t Play With Your Food? April 15, 2009
Posted by Marina in : Fun Events , add a commentTonight, Residence Life and the Susquehanna Hall Council set up a FABULOUS Ice Cream and Cupcake decorating social kind of thing. It was great ice cream!
) Not to mention I saw some really really cute cupcakes done up by my peers. I took my girls with me and my overnight Erin (who is just a doll) and we sat in the Avalon Community Center and ate our ice cream and had girl talk. I swear ice cream can save lives!
) Sorry if you missed it – better luck next time.
MULTICULTURAL AWARENESS WEEK April 13, 2009
Posted by Marina in : Fun Events, Informational Events , add a commentThis week is Multicultural Reach here at Stevenson University. And if one thing is for sure, even for a smaller university, we have alot of different peopel coming from a lot of different backgrounds. So why not check out the cultures of your peers? If you can’t make it to any of the really neat events this week, check out the Art exhibit or even the book display!! Being well educated about various cultures can aid a person not only in life but it can create uniqueness when applying for jobs.
I will def. be at the Polynesian Dancers event on Thursday!! Heck, why not?
President’s Celebration Re-Cap April 10, 2009
Posted by Marina in : Fun Events, Informational Events , add a commentSo it’s no surprise to anyone that I indeed went to the President’s Celebration and had a BLAST! I didn’t go as a STAR, for the day I sat back and decided to blend in the crowd and be Tylor’s guest.
My best friend from my high school also attended. But aside from being another face in the crowd, I was overwhelmed to see just how many people were in attendance! Over 1000 people!! WOAH! Needless to say, the stands and seats in the gym were packed and the Mustang Crew was full of smiles and warm welcomes. Now, although I already go to Stevenson, I was impressed. Good job SU for putting on a FABULOUS celebration, with great cake!

FIVE TIMES AUGUST! March 29, 2009
Posted by Marina in : Fun Events , add a commentYes, I met Brad, the man behind the one man show,
Five Times August.
And yes, he put on the most amazing acoustic show I have ever seen. I feel so lucky just to have met him for the five seconds it took him to personally autograph my new album (thank you tylor for providing me with the Cd, I love you). Although only a small intimate crowd was present at the show, Brad connected with us and turned into a small intimate rockin’ FUN show! Needless to say, I am totally in love with his music. So if you missed out, it is TOTALLY your loss!! Thank you MAP for brining FTA to Stevenson! You can still check him out on Itunes!

Meet Spot :o) March 23, 2009
Posted by Marina in : Fun Events, General , add a commentThis is my new fish, Spot
)
Spot is the result of two spastic teenagers walking into a pet store. You see, I really wanted a robohamster. They are amazingly cute and fluffy but against dorm policies. So Spot was the perfect addition to this big ol’ room to myself. You ask, why is his name Spot? Well although you can’t see it, he has a black spot on his right fin
) I love him. Everyone thinks he is the most adorable goldfish ever. However, he isn’t one of those 25 cent goldfishes, he’s a special breed. Yeah, awesome, I know.
In his .5 gallon glass bowl, he has greenish blue marbled rocks and has a little house built like a mushy sand castle with flip-flop decor’. It’s kind of sad that I spoil a fish – I refused to buy him pellets because he is so small, so I bought him GOURMET food flakes.
) Yes, I’m serious. But I felt like it was important to give him the best because I did take him out of his home, which makes me sad.
If you plan on buying your own fish for your dorm, remember that you cannot have a tank exceeding 10 gallons. Also, make sure to properly take care of your fish. Water conditioner is necessary to keep your new friend alive, and of course food! A loving nurturing home doesn’t hurt either. Buying little things to put in the bowl helps the fish have a little excitement. So go on and get your own!
