Senior Year Homecoming October 22, 2011
Posted by Marina in : Fall 2011 , add a commentIt is hard to believe that I am a senior here at SU. But I will totally admit that this Homecoming was so, so, so much fun for me! Let me share with you my homecoming week/weekend.
First off, let me tell you about some amazing chili I had at the chili cook off on the Greenspring Campus. I ate so many different kinds of chili and so much of it that I felt full for days! My favorite was the white chili, yummy! I didn’t get a chance to stick around to see who the winner was – but I think this is a great tradition and an awesome way to get the whole community – staff, faculty, and students – involved in Homecoming weekend – the kick off!
The next event I attended was the bonfire. IT WAS SO MUCH FUN! I went with some of my freshman residents and danced the night away around the fire. They had a live DJ and it was just a great time. I saw everyone I knew at the bonfire! Even as a senior, I know how to get down around the bonfire!
Although the Sober Party was not part of Homecoming weekend, officially, it was for me. See my blog on NCAAW to get your fix on all things wasted.

And, the holy grail of Homecoming weekend, the football game. For the first time ever, I was able to spend my homecoming weekend with a whole lot of spirited fans and some good old fashioned football. I have to say, it was the best part, besides the tail gating. Which, speaking of, was absolutely INSANE. There were SO many people tailgating and having fun before the game. It makes SU feel like a real university and I love it. The football game was equally exciting – although not my first game, it was the best by far. And even though our boys lost, they put up a great fight and proved that we have spirit. Being a part of the audience was awesome and I cannot believe this is it for me. For all of you who have more time, LIVE IT UP. But don’t worry, I’ll be back as an alumni next year!
