As of Friday, October 1, 2010 Stevenson University zoned its parking lots for Susquehanna Hall and Patapsco Hall to make room for the construction trucks that will soon be breaking ground for the two brand new residential halls. These halls are to be completely furnished and able for living by the start of the Fall 2011 semester.
This zoning is also taking place in our brand new Owings Mills parking lot, soon to be named with the new gym. However, this zoning is not to make room for new residential halls; it is to break ground for our brand new Football Stadium! The stadium is also set to be up and running for the 2011 Football Season. The first Stevenson University Football Game is set for September 3, 2011.
Build Community Day October 13, 2010

On Saturday, October 9, 2010 over 500 Stevenson University students and staff spent 3200 hours building the Baltimore Community. Around $25,600 was donated in volunteer labor. Every year faculty, staff, and students make their way around the Owings Mills/Baltimore community to show they care by cleaning up and fixing up. Many students have planted tree’s to better our environment, while others helped rebuild parts of our community that may seem less fortunate. No matter how you look at it, Stevenson is dedicated to giving back to the community we live in.

For student activities because today, on the Greenspring Campus, students (including myself) were able to make there own pair of personalized shorts! I have been waiting for this event for over a month now! The line was ridiculous, but I have my own pair of green shorts with the word “MUSTANG” on the butt! I think they are so cute and they are really comfortable! Of course, if oyu missed it, you can go to you local craft store and purchase iron on letters to make your own with a pair of soffee shorts. But for now, I will take my free shorts and wear them with Mustang pride!
Free (New) T-Shirt! October 5, 2010

Most students here at SU have lots of school spirit. Even the brand new football team sports the new logo everywhere they go because it is plastered on their helmet!
But what about the rest of the students who are constantly wearing t-shirts from other Universities such as Towson, Salisbury, and Maryland? Well yesterday, Student Activities wanted to end this nonsense and give students brand new Stevenson t-shirts (with the new logo) when they traded in a shirt from another University! I will admit, I have a few shirts from different schools. I personally took over a Kutztown University shirt and recieved my brand new shirt! Do you have a shirt with the new logo? If you don’t, and you missed your chance to get it for free (or a small trade in), you can still purhcase the shirts in the school bookstore!

This is Jack, my fabulous lantern, and he was carved right in my dorm room!
Want a jack-o-lantern like this one?
Well you have a few options. First, go to Shoppers where they will sell you a pumpkin for $4 and the carving kit for an additional $4. Second, have you ever wondered how great the pumpkin patch on Greespring Valley Road is? Well I have, so I went and bought the beauty above! For $8, you can take a hayride to the pumpkin patch, pick your own pumpkin, and go through the GIANT corn maze!!! It was so much fun and so convienant!!!
Under Construction October 5, 2010

Once again, we are under construction here at the University! But this time, we are getting a lot more than just an unnecessary headache. We are getting two, brand new, resident halls set to be built and opened for the class of 2015! The buildings will be placed behind Patapsco and Susquehanna halls meaning for now, parking is extremely limited for residents. However, commuters have been asked to park down at the new owings mills lot so that residents can park at the school of business. And as always, if you are walking somewhere on campus, like from your car to your building, and do not feel safe, security will escort you. So until the halls are up and running, expect major paring delays. But remember, it will pay off in the end!
