Help Us Find A Way February 1, 2010

In efforts to support this fabulous BINGO held in honor of the 2010 Alternative Spring Break Trip, I made it my personal responsibility to get some really awesome donations from local radio stations.  How did I do it?  I emailed them.  It seems so simple, but that is how I have reached my success.

Today I had the opportunity to go to one of the charitable radio stations, Z104.3, in Baltimore to pick up their donations.  When I got there, I was so overwhelmed and excited that I had actually gone so far with just an email!  It shows me that people still care about the world we live in.

So how can you help?  You can buy tickets for our Basket and Vera Bradley BINGO being held on Saturday, February 27Th at 7 p.m.  I have tickets available in my room for purchase for $15.  Or maybe you can’t make it?  You can donate all sorts of stuff for the BINGO!  Just see our fliers around campus and help support our amazing efforts!

Here is a picture of the ClearChannel Radio Station where Z104.3 is located!

Kickboxing with Jeff is an every Monday event that happens in the Racquetball room down in the Caves Sports and Wellness Center.  Jeff, the instructor of the class, is a certified Taekwondo teacher as well as many other area’s of martial arts including kickboxing.  He is also a Film student here at Stevenson, a Resident Assistant in Western Run, and one of my good friends.  In preparation for his class, student’s do at least 20 minutes of warm-ups and a 10 minute cool down session preceding.  The students (shown above doing their 5 minute abs workout) love his class and have gone since the first semester.  Jeff has been holding classes at Stevenson since his freshman year where he started on the fourth floor lobby of Susquehanna.  His class has come along way and I cannot wait to see more and more people join!  Remember, Mondays at 8.
