New Year, New Choices January 29, 2010
Posted by Marina in : Winter 2009-2010 , trackbackPreviously, I wrote about the top ten New Year’s Resolutions for 2010. But I feel like I left out something: Change. Change is inevitable and can be great! For the new year, I decided that my life ultimately needed a change so I sought the help of professionals. In the Wellness Center, they offer free counseling to students who are of interest. For up to 8 weeks, we can go down and talk about our problems and try to get our lives on track to where we want them to be. So I took the advice of a friend and started counseling. Know what the counselor told me? She told me I need change.
For the last couple of weeks I have been making small but satisfying changes in my life. For instance, Philadelphia was off of spontaneity and I LOVED IT! I am applying for a summer RA job at a ballet school in Boston and I am also getting back in touch with my band side and applying for a Color Guard job at a local high school. Recently I even started branching out and started trying new food. This past week I believe I ate 8 different kinds of quesadillas from Rockland, including a smores quesadilla, and much to my surprise they were all very tasty! So lesson learned? Change is good. Embrace it. And if you need help, don’t be afraid to talk to someone! Here is a picture of one of my delicious quesadilla adventures on Friday night, celebrating the success of life.
