Celebrate Diversity: October 21, 2009
Posted by Marina in : Fall 2009 , trackbackat the ResLife Ethnic Potluck!
On Tuesday, October 20th, the Western Run ResLife staff held an Ethnic Potluck in the TV Lounge (in Ratcliffe). The lounge was decorated with streamers and flags from different countries, ultimately respresenting our dishes. At one point in time, up to 50 people showed for the event and the delicious free food! The staff bonded together and served dishes from all around the world. I made strawberry and banana crepes from France. Some other dishes included Curry Chicken from Jamaica, Quesadillas from Mexico, and Perogies from Yugoslavia! We also had enough diversity within our food selection that we split the evening into dinner and dessert! It was a lot of fun and students seemed to really enjoy the food! After the food was demolished, we moved onto a trivia game where participants could have won gift cards to Edo Sushi. We had two lucky winners after the intense session of trivia, led by our SRA Kiara.
Overall, it was the most successful event we have had ALL year! Way to go!
Also – Wooded Way is hosting a similar event in November, so if you missed this one, be sure to read your RA’s bulletin board for more details!
