LIFE NIGHT! January 29, 2009
Posted by Marina in : Fun Events , add a commentSo sometimes here at Stevenson, when it’s late in the evening and all the homework is done or tucked away from humanity, it can get pretty boring. But that’s why God created the meaning of friends. And last night, was LIFE night with my girls Chelsea and Maria
Fun? You know it!! Even though I lost BIG TIME, it was still a lot of fun that led to more talking, eating, and embarrassment.
So ever need something to do? Gather up a bunch of your friends, chill in your room and play board games! It’s amusing, fun, and relieves stress
The Tots. Part Two. January 27, 2009

It seems to me that everytime I’m not having a good moment, SU serves tots. Seriously – how often do we have breakfast for dinner?!?! Sweet life.
Snow Day!! January 27, 2009
Posted by Marina in : General , add a commentToday marks the first full snow day here at Stevenson University.
And I am not the only one excited. I was eating my breakfast when the message was released and a cluster of people came in hooting and hollering. It was kind of the same energy you’d see out of a five year old with a lollipop and a chocolate bar
Enjoy the day off SU!

Tonight, Residence Life hosted a therapeutic session of the almighty finger painting in the Avalon Community Center. And although I was unable to attend, I heard it was awesome! You see, I was stuck in my room doing homework and watching my favorite tv show, The Secret Life of the American Teenager.
BUT – Tylor bought me the COOLEST present ever for Christmas. It is a magic wonder light up paint set. literally, the brush lights up in different colors as I paint!! So I’ll display my very own painting later this week
Overnighters :) January 24, 2009
Posted by Marina in : Fun Events, General , add a commentWould you like to become one of the infamous overnighters here at Stevenson University? I’m an overnighter. Are you? Well you can be. It’s simple! The Overnight Stay program is for ACCEPTED students who want to get a better feel for the environment here at SU. You pair up with a host (which I am also one of), and they will take you to events, to their classes, give you a look around campus, give you a chance to experience the yummy food, and even meet new people. It’s fun and exciting and I recommend it to anyone who is interested in becoming part of the SU community. There are 11 dates that you can possibly stay, and only 6 hosts per night – SO ACT FAST!
By going on the the SU website, just click on the new icon for the Overnight Stay program and read for more information on how to sign up. If you have any further questions, you can contact Elizabeth Fitzgerald in the Admissions Office
Hope to see you soon!
The Tots. January 22, 2009
Posted by Marina in : Fun Events, General , add a commentThis morning I woke up in a rough patch. A series of bad dreams, a stuffy nose and head, and to top it off – I’m going to be alone this weekend.
But luckily I rolled out of bed in time to go to breakfast in Rockland, which I haven’t done yet this semester. I thought eh, cereal isn’t for me today and stay away from the oatmeal. Fruit looks good but that was ith dinner… ah hah! And there they were – the tots. The oh so delicious bundles of fried potatoes that go hand in hand with my daily serving of ketchup. So I loaded up my tots, and my fresh omelet and went to town.
Now I’m feeling much better and have a smile on my face
Inauguration Day the SU Way January 21, 2009
Posted by Marina in : Fun Events , add a commentYesterday was history in the making. Millions of people gathered in Washington D.C. to watch President Barack Obama be sworn into the presidential position – and for his long yet very effective speech. Millions watched the very same thing at home, through their television. But those who were fortunate enough, witnessed up close and personal with a properly packaged invitation to one of the many balls that took place last night. Now SU didn’t have a ball pursay – but the party was rockin last night in the Avalon Community Center. There were students everywhere. Playing games, eating food, and celebrating history. Now, I’m no fan of history, but yesterday was pretty cool to say the very least.
I beleive that it’s a step in the right direction. And although not everyone feels the same way about our new president, his ideas and aspirations, but he defines unity, prosperity, and spirit within the greatest nation in the world. He brought people of all colors, ages, and backgrounds together… just like last night here at SU. No matter the feelings or opinions, we have learned to come together and celebrate in the honor of those who are greater than we are, but not greater than the people we have the potential to be.
I say Congratulations to President Barack Obama, and Good Luck.

SNOW!!!
Yes, this is my front yard, delicately glazed in God’s most finest substances, Snow.
Although it didn’t last long, it was cold and brutal. So what do you do when you’re stuck at home? Tylor and I say – Scrabble. After a venterous drive from town, we sat on the floor and played the most amazing game of Scrabble! Granted, I could have been doing my homework – but at least I was doing something semi-educational.
It was a long, hard game, but in the end I prevailed and there were no letters left over!! A first for me I must say. Next weekend, a brutal rematch. Good luck, Ty.
