I hope everyone is having a fabulous break and staying safe.
Speaking of staying safe – be careful tonight! I know that bringing in a new year is really exciting, but getting in trouble with the law is not and neither is getting hurt. So stay safe tonight – so you can actually see 2009!
I’ll be back tomorrow with my resolution!

So you want to be an RA? December 8, 2008
Posted by Marina in : Fun Events , add a commentWell I have news for you – Saturday’s group process day was so much fun!
I have to say my favorite part was building a “leaning pasta tower” out of gumdrops, marshmallows, and spaghetti. Awesome to say the least. But it wasn’t all fun and games. As potential future RA’s , we were evaluated on EVERY activity. We were asked about many things such as qualifications, ethics, prioritization, and how to meet the needs and wants of students.
So you want to be an RA? Well, my best advice is to go in and be yourself – it’s the best thing you could do.
BINGO was a WINNER! December 4, 2008
Posted by Marina in : Fun Events , add a commentI have never seen so many SU students and faculty crammed into the Rockland conference room as I did last night. BINGO, by far, was a HIT! There were so many FABULOUS prizes, including a 37″ Flat Screen TV. Yeah, pretty awesome, huh? Come join the fun in the Spring
Dec. 1 – World AIDS Day. December 2, 2008
Posted by Marina in : Uncategorized , add a commentYesterday was the day to strut your stuff wearing the red ribbon, supporting AIDS.
For the people who live there lives HIV Positive, it is a day tribute to them – a day to let them know we pray for them, and a day to raise awareness so you don’t have to live like them.
At 7 p.m. last night, a girl by the name of Allie spoke in the Rockland conference room, about her life, with AIDS. She wants to put “the WE back in HIV.” She was positive, upbeat, and inspiring to say the least. Her story touched me in so many ways.
The presentation also discussed ways to prevent yourself from becoming HIV positive. One way, of course, is to protect yourself. At the end of the presentation, little “goody bags” were given out in honor of World AIDS Day. These little bags have condoms, a pamphlet, lubricant, other contraceptives, and other things to help people protect themselves. One night could ruin your entire life.
So be safe. Being a Student here at Stevenson University, condoms and other variances are offered to us at no charge through the Wellness Center. It maybe embarrassing to go in and grab some condoms – but how embarrassing would it be to find out you have an STD?
Turkey Day Revisited December 2, 2008

I hope you all had a FABULOUS Thanksgiving break. With Winter break and finals right around the corner, I’d like to just sit back and relax for a couple of minutes and reflect upon my wonderful Thanksgiving.
Besides shopping and studying all week, I helped my Dad around the house with dinner and cleaning and what nots. I’d do anything to help him and make sure he’s not so stressed out. Tylor had to work Thanksgiving morning, and I thought he was going to miss dinner! But luckily, one tradition never goes out of style at my house – the tradition of never being on time. Every year for vacation Dad says we”re leaving at 7. Eight o’clock rolls around and I’m sitting in the car yelling for him to hurry up. This year, he beleived that dinner would be at 12:30… Dinner was at 2:30.
Love ya Dad.
Another tradition I just love is the famous “Dad smelling the Turkey,” picture.
Isn’t he cute?
Other than the great food, it was great family fun. I don’t have a large family, but they are so much fun and I love them dearly.
Tylor and I furthered our evening and went to visit his Nan and Pap. Talk about darling!
Now my quiet time is over and I must get back into school work and write another blog
Enjoy some pictures from my weekend.
